My Opinion About BackstageSpy:
Backstage Spy sounds fascinating. I have never actually been on a porn shoot and I've always been curious about what goes into making a hardcore film. This site promises to let us in on the secrets and with this in mind I'm not so much expecting to be turned on as I am expecting to be awed.
The members' area of BackstageSpy isn't that bad I guess. It looks neat and there is a welcome message explaining a little bit more about what this site is all about. There is also a list of 39 non-exclusive bonus sites. The sites being offered are typical. Content from BoatBangersXXX and other sites can all be found on just about any porn site offering non-exclusive bonuses. There is a link to stories, but oddly enough it links to the movie content. Obviously, there's not much in the way of good bonus content.
So, basically there are films here. The list is all in text and there aren't any preview thumbnails to seduce us into watching one film over another. As I begin to read some of the descriptions, I find that they are incomplete. In fact, the writer hasn't even bothered to complete many sentences. If this isn't ridiculous enough I also notice the site hasn't updated since 2003. I'm starting to think that Backstage Spy is a waste of time.
Each of the 74 movies are at least a good 30 minutes long, but they are divided into clips and there aren't any other options. I'm sure that 500kbps 512x384 Windows Media Videos were probably top-of-the-line in 2003, but they don't really cut the cake these days. Still, I was happier with the image than I ever expected to be and the sound was very crisp. However, dialogue is not English and there are no subtitles. I think the concept of the site is good, but what's the point of viewing a site like this if you can't understand what's being said as the director talks to his crew or to the actors? It does become boring very fast.
Final Verdict:
Well, I don't mind the concept of this site and yet to be all behind-the-scenes videos are good for bonus content and not the basis of a whole site. It's just not hot and it comes tired after watching the first five minutes or so. Anyhow, this site isn't that great to begin with. There aren't any good bonuses, and the site hasn't updated in five years. What can I say other than you'd be wasting your money with Backstage Spy.
